When God Made Fathers

When the good Lord was creating Fathers, he started with a tall frame.

A female angel nearby said, "What kind of a Father is that? If you're going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put the Father up so high? He won't be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without stooping"

God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?"

And when God made a Father's hands, they were large. The angel shook her head and said, "Large hands can't manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails, or even remove splinters caused from baseball bats."

Again God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets, yet small enough to cup a child's face in them."

Then God molded long slim legs and broad shoulders, "Do you realize you just made a Father without a lap?" The angel chuckled.

God said, "A Mother needs a lap. A Father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, to balance a boy on a bicycle, or to hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus."

When God was in the middle of creating the biggest feet any one had ever seen, the angel could not contain herself any longer. "That's not fair. Do you honestly think those feet are going to get out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries, or walk through a birthday party without crushing one or two of the guests?"

God again smiled and said, "They will work. You will see. They will support a small child who wants to ride to Banbury Cross or scare mice away from a summer cabin, or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill." God worked throughout the night, giving the Father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant.

Finally, almost as an after a thought, He added tears. Then he turned to the angel and said, "Now are you satisfied he can love as much as a Mother can?"

The angel said nothing more.

A  World Of Green

Many years ago, in India, there was a rich man who was suffering from a severe eye pain. He consulted with numerous physicians and was getting multiple treatments. He did not stop consulting a galaxy of medical experts; he consumed heavy loads of drugs and got hundreds of injections. But the pain persisted with greater vigor than before.

At last a monk who was supposed to be an expert in treating such patients was called for by the millionaire. The monk understood his problem and told him that for a certain period of time he should concentrate only on green colors and not look at any other color.

The rich man assembled a group of painters, purchased barrels of green color and directed that every object his eye was likely to fall on to be painted in green just as the monk had directed.

When the monk came to visit him after a few days, the rich man's servants ran with buckets of green paint and poured on him since he was wearing a red gown, lest their master not see any other color and his eye pain would come back.

Hearing this the monk laughed and said to the rich man "If only you had purchased a pair of green glasses, worth just a few Rupee, you could have saved these walls and trees and pots and all other articles and also could have saved a large share of your fortune. You cannot paint the whole world green."

Once we change our vision the world will appear accordingly. It is foolish to try to shape the world, let us shape ourselves first.

And in the same context (Attributed to an known monk):

"When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.

I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.

When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town.

I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.

Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself,
and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself,
I could have made an impact on my family.

My family and I could have made an impact on our town.
Their impact could have changed the nation and
I could indeed have changed the world."

Handle a Business successfully, handle a business, is the key to the establishment and growth of the company. The key to
successful management is to examine the marketplace environment and create employment and profit opportunities that provide the
possible growth and financial viability of the business enterprise.

Despite the Significance of direction, this region can be misunderstood and badly implemented, chiefly because people focus on the
output rather than the procedure for direction.

Toward the end Of the 1980s, business managers became absorbed in improving product quality, sometimes ignoring their function
vis-a-vis personnel. The focus has been on reducing costs and increasing output, while ignoring the long-term advantages of
motivating employees. This shortsighted view tended to raise profits in the short term, but created a dysfunctional long-term
small business environment.

Simultaneously With the growth in concern about quality, entrepreneurship attracted the attention of company. A sudden wave of
successful entrepreneurs seemed to leave sooner management theories obsolete. The popular press centered on the brand new cult
heroes Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack (founders and developers of the Apple Computer) while disregarding the marketing and
organizing talents of Mike Markula, the executive responsible for Apple's business program. The story of 2 men selling their
Volkswagen bus to build the first Apple computer was more romantic than that of the organizational genius that allowed Apple to
grow, market and ship its products while rapidly becoming a significant business.

In big Businesses, effective manage business abilities necessitates planning. Planning is essential for developing a company's
potential. However, many small businesses don't recognize the need for long-term aims, because the small number of people involved
with managing the business implies equal responsibility in the preparation and decision-making processes. Nonetheless, the need
for planning is as important in a small business because it is in a large one.

This guide Focuses on the importance of good management practices. Specifically, it addresses the responsibilities of handling the
external and internal environments.

Running A Business Effectively: The External Environment. Five decades ago, Alvin Toffler suggested that the vision of the citizen
at the tight grasp of an omnipotent bureaucracy would be substituted by an organizational structure of ad-hocracy. The
conventional business organization implied a social contract between workers and employers. By adhering to a fixed set of
obligations and sharply defined roles and responsibilities, employees received a predefined set of rewards. The Organizational
structure which Toffler called in 1970 became the norm 20 decades later, and with it arrived changed concepts of jurisdiction. As
associations became more transitory, the authority of their organization and firm was replaced by the jurisdiction of the
individual supervisor. This entrepreneurial management version is currently being replicated throughout society. As a result, the
individual small business operator must internalize ever increasing organizational functions.

Another Shift In the present business environment is dealing with government agencies. Their effect on the conduct of company most
recently appears to have increased. As industries fail to achieve high levels of ethical behaviour or individual businesses
exhibit specific lapses, the government rushes in to fill the breach with its regulations.

Effective Communications play an integral role in operating and managing any thriving small business. With open communications
modifications and their consequences on the organization are quickly shared. Your company then has the time and skills needed to
respond to changes and take advantage of evolving opportunities.

The following Checklist addressing how you'd respond to an employee's proposal provides an evaluation of the communication process
in your company. Put a check beside the statements which are generally heard in your business.

Balancing Schedules Stress and Personnel. With no organization and decent control the compressed time programs associated with
contemporary business can cause stress and make exceptional demands on people. An effective management structure can lessen stress
and channel the effective capacity of workers into business growth and profits.

Setting Duties Tasks and Duties. An organization is characterized by the character and determination of workers' responsibilities
tasks and responsibilities. While many organizations use different procedures for determining these it's essential that they be
clearly defined.

The center of any Business is its people and their own functions. Duties tasks and responsibilities frequently evolve into an ad
hoc manner. A normal firm starts with a few individuals often one doing all duties. As the company develops others are hired to
fill specific functions often on a functional basis. Roles that were handled by consultants and specialists outside the firm are
now handled internally. As new needs emerge new roles have been developed.

Another crucial to Successful management lies in controlling battle. Conflict can't be eliminated from either the company or the
social activities of the enterprise. A measure of the business's success is the degree to which conflict may be exposed and the
energies related to it channeled to build up the firm. Though establishing policies and processes represents the tangible aspect
of organization and management the mechanics to tolerate and embody barriers to the established operation serve as the real
essence of a firm that will endure and prosper.

Even though you May discover that certain events are impacting your business be careful to not alter the organizational structure
of your firm without discussing it with your management team. Employees generally can achieve goals despite organizational
arrangements imposed by management. Because restructuring involves spending a lot of time learning new guidelines implementing a
new organizational structure is pricey.

The essence of A successful organization can be simply summarized than implemented. The Following checklist can help you determine
measures to make sure your management Structure is adequate. Check the entries that apply to your firm and also find Out what
measures your business should take to improve its management Structure.
